Civil Substation Engineer

Must Haves:

• 5 years of engineering designing of civil/structural systems
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
• Experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D

Plusses:

• PE license
• Previous utilities or engineering procurement construction experience
• Experience with the analysis and design of concrete foundations (Ipile, risa), anchorage systems, and the review of structural steel and connections

Day to Day:

We are looking for a Civil Substation Engineer to join a full-time role onsite in Duluth, GA. This individual will be apart of a team of 5-10 engineers and oversee substation site designs and foundation builds for a utility client. The ideal candidate will come from an EPC background and should have relevant civil substation experience. The Engineer will be using Civil 3D for designs and LPILE for foundations. Responsibilities also include developing site designs including storm water management, grading, surface/sub-surface drainage plans, detailed plans and specifications, and bidding and construction management of civil projects. The Civil Substation engineer will determine cut and fill requirements based on site topography and soil logs and deliver accurate designs of comprex structures that meet industry and client standards and applicable codes. This person will work within a multi-discipline team to develop efficient and reliable preliminary drawings and design of site/foundation/structural components for High Voltage Substation Facilities in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards and Request for Quote (RFQ) scope of work ensuring constructability of design.

• Perform structural design and analysis of anchorage and foundation systems, using SAP2000, LPILE, MFAD, RISA-3D or equivalent.
• Perform hand calculations applying proficiency in civil/structural codes and standards such as AISC, ACI, ASCE 113, CBC, IEEE, NESC, etc

Salary: $110,000 - $150,000 (Depending on exp)
