Insight Global is seeking to hire a Manager of Collections for a large healthcare customer based in Maryland. This role plays a critical part in driving revenue increase by overseeing account receivables, optimizing billing and collections processes, and reducing uncompensated care. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, leveraging data-driven insights and empathetic leadership to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the account receivables portfolio for CareFirst, utilizing dashboards and detailed reports to monitor receivables and assigned work queues, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding balances.
- Analyze and determine the duration items have remained in work queues, implementing process improvements to streamline workflows for team members while maintaining accuracy and compliance with payer regulations.
- Supervise and mentor a team of exempt and non-exempt personnel, including conducting interviews, hiring, performance evaluations, training, and disciplinary actions as needed, fostering a goal-oriented work environment.
- Collaborate with the Director and Management Team to establish clear work procedures, set departmental goals, and develop strategic plans to enhance collections, billing accuracy, and cash flow.
- Prepare and distribute performance reports to assess departmental effectiveness, working closely with the analytics team to fulfill external report requests using Epic systems.
- Ensure a productive office environment by maintaining orderly facilities, managing personnel and payroll matters, and building necessary contacts to support departmental operations.
- Partner with executive leadership, participate in strategic meetings and committees, and represent the department as required to align with UMMS’s mission and objectives.
Must-have
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field; or associate’s degree in leu of bachelor's with equivalent years of experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in healthcare or hospital settings, with a strong background in collections, billing, and revenue cycle management specifically with commercial payors.
- At least 4 years of lead, supervisory, or management experience, demonstrating progressive responsibility in team oversight.
