Commissioning Specialist

Direct placement with our client, a leading provider of mechanical services throughout the Washington DC Metro area.

Day to day:

• Start-up, commission, maintain, and services industrial/commercial HVAC systems and plumbing equipment. Troubleshoots and locates malfunctions, diagnoses problems, and determines appropriate repairs.
• Utilize laptops/tablets to document startup and commissioning forms required per project specifications.
• Works from blueprints, drawings, models, and/or verbal and written instructions. - Prove mechanical and plumbing systems being control by building automation systems to third party Commissioning firm.
• Share partial supervision of NEBB Tab contractor and respond to punch listed equipment. - Interface and coordinate activities with ATC sub-contractor.
• Services and repairs evaporators, condensers, and receivers. Repacks valves, lubricates moving parts, replaces filters, and clean coils.
• Adjusts, repairs, or replaces thermostats, relays, switches, and electrical wiring. - Repairs or replaces compressors and components, electric motors, fans, belts, and pulleys.
• Maintains refrigerate inventory and consumption logs.
• Follows established safety procedures and utilizes safety protective equipment and clothing pertaining to trades or skills.
• Complete some minor copper tubing; cut and thread pipe; make pipe and low voltage connections.
• Provides proper methods of storing and maintaining tools, equipment, and supplies in a safe and orderly condition.
• Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
• Test pipe or tubing joints and connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution.

Must haves:

• CFC/Universal License (plus)
• 5 years of experience building commercial mechanical projects or equipment
• Effective communication skills - Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems
• Ability to read, understand and work from drawings, specifications, and schematics
• Clean background, clean driving record, and the ability to pass a drug test
