Title: Database Administrator (DBA)

Description
Insight Global is looking for a Database Administrator (DBA) Contractor to ensure database performance, security, and availability. This role includes learning specific processes, providing technical support, handling tickets, performing health checks, and executing traditional DBA tasks.
Must Haves
- Proven experience as a DBA
- Expertise in database management, troubleshooting, and support
- Familiarity with database performance tuning and optimization techniques
- Strong understanding of database security measures and compliance requirements
- Ability to learn and adapt to specific processes and systems
- Experience with SQL, Oracle, and HANA
Plusses
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Experience interacting with vendors and clients globally
- Experience with Qlik replication
Day to Day
- Refresh databases to lower environments
- Manage access requests, including multi-approval processes
- Rerun failed jobs and notify job owners of issues
- Shrink files or request additional space for data and log files
- Troubleshoot permissions and query issues
- Validate database performance, checking for blocking, memory, and CPU contention
- Automate quarterly checks and streamline email alerting/reporting
- Write additional checks and automated clean-up for database settings
- Compare logins on primary and secondary servers
- Identify and retire abandoned databases
- Set up alerts for app support to clean up tables
- Recompile views and stored procedures to identify and fix broken definitions
- Help with cleanup for Aries Evergreen database to improve performance and reduce restore times
Compensation
$55/hr to $65/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
