Job Description: Insight Global is looking for a Director in the Annapolis, Maryland Area. The Director will lead and support a team working on diverse projects of varying sizes, scopes, and details. You'll thrive in a flexible, entrepreneurial work environment with a vibrant office culture and a national presence. We are seeks civil engineering leaders who aspire to be subject matter experts in residential, commercial, or industrial land development. Responsibilities of a Director: Business Development:
- Cultivate future business and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients
- Manage your team's business operations
- Develop an annual business plan with Project Managers and Associate Directors, and present it to the Vice President
- Set department objectives in collaboration with team members and management
- Oversee business development activities and support internal training
Financial Management:
- Achieve revenue goals
- Optimize team utilization and scheduling
- Manage PM projects, including AR collections, effort vs. contract value, project profitability, change order submission, and monthly invoicing
- Conduct risk management through contract, proposal, and licensing reviews
- Drive revenue factor and net payroll multiplier
Product Objectives:
- Ensure adherence to company and service sector standards
- Utilize and maintain company templates
- Achieve operational excellence and establish repeatable processes for deliverables
Staff Development:
- Initiate and follow up on performance reviews, address compensation, review job titles vs. duties, support performance improvement plans, and monitor success
- Identify and provide training tools for the team
- Mentor staff on industry knowledge, project knowledge, process knowledge, and best practices
Staff Management:
- Communicate staffing needs to Leadership
- Support national talent acquisition by identifying, interviewing, and hiring key talent
- Build a regional organizational chart and hire accordingly
- Develop and present onboarding plans for new employees, assist with their first timesheet
- Address performance issues with HR for documentation and termination when necessary
- Understand and enforce safety manuals and protocols related to onboarding, training, and reporting
- Ensure team awareness of project safety requirements and provide necessary training and support
- Supervise and direct team members, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, reviewing, and disciplining (up to termination)
Communication with Human Resources:
- Support regional recruiting efforts.
Health & Safety:
- Approve timesheets, PTO, expense reports, and corporate credit card expenses
Professional Development:
- Attend educational workshops
- Review professional and market segment publications
- Participate in relevant professional societies and trade associations
- Promote internal communication and encourage dialogue within project teams, across market sectors, and throughout the organization
