Job Summary:
This role provides engineering support for aircraft and vehicle sustainment technology development and transition, including maintenance of aircraft, vehicles, and ground support equipment. The ideal candidate will support technicians in material characterization of cold spray and additive manufacturing material deposits used in repair and sustainment of parts.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support design, manufacturing, and test/validation of repair procedures for advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, developing, and executing test protocols, experiments, process characterization, and process validations on new and revised products and processes.
- Develop and complete training for additive manufacturing, cold spray, and/or advanced manufacturing processes.
- Consult with team members regarding product and process issues.
- Write and update technical data packages for repairs, as well as other required documentation.
Requirements:
- 4 years of experience in the design and/or transition of technology to a validated manufacturing process/operation in the automotive or aerospace industries.
- Working knowledge of various manufacturing processes such as casting, NC machining, forging, heat treat, thermal spray, cold spray, and additive manufacturing for metals and/or plastics.
- Working knowledge of materials testing standards and procedures.
- Proficient in 3D CAD modeling software and ability to generate drawing in accordance with ASTM Y14.5
- Proficient in Excel and other MS Office Suite programs.
