What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Scientist position at Insight Global?
Day to day:
Insight Global is seeking an Environmental Scientist for one of our top engineering consultant clients in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The Engineer will evaluate and interpret subsurface field and sampling data including soil and groundwater to develop conclusions concerning the environmental and geologic site conditions. Develop recommendations regarding further assessment and/or remedial options. Generate subsurface maps and cross-sections and collaborate with engineering and environmental scientist staff on projects. Oversee field monitoring and testing of soils including boring investigations and soil type classification. Oversee well installation and field sampling of groundwater for various contaminants in accordance with FDEP SOPs. Interpret soil, bedrock and groundwater elevation and quality data. Prepare written plans and reports related to site investigations, assessments, and remediation activities. Projects may include well design and sampling; environmental assessments including Phase I/II site assessments; risk assessments and FDEP Waste Cleanup sites.
Must haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Environmental or related field and a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- Experience leading engineering projects and environmental programs - remediation efforts (no water resources)
- Pursuing or committed to obtaining PE in Florida
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history & comfortable with 40% field travel
Plusses:
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification in field of expertise
- Regulatory compliance experience
- Underground tank design
- Active PE, will be signing off on projects
Salary : $45 - $55
