Position: Patient Financial Advocate

Pay Rate: $20-$25/ hour
Schedule: M-F 8-5
OPPORTUNITY FOR REMOTE AFTER 6 MONTHS
Must-Haves:
- 1-2 years of customer service experience
- 1-2 years of insurance experience
- High School Diploma
- Compassion for patients, and passion for helping them with financial hardships
Plusses:
- Have CRCR through the HFMA
- Experience with Financial statement and billing
Day-to-Day:
A regional health system in North Florida is looking to bring on two patient financial advocates for their Patient Financial Advocacy team. Their responsibilities will be as follows:
- Provide financial counseling, collecting payments, setting up payment plans, provide information regarding financial assistance.
- Competent in assisting patients with Medicaid, SSI/Disability and financial assistance applications, co-pay assistance, drug-assistance, and foundation/grant assistance. **They partner with vendors for these services. **
- Provide education to patients for medical bills, EOBs, Epic MyChart, etc..
- Screen uninsured/underinsured patients to determine their eligibility for assistance programs
- Compile necessary documentation (income and assets) in accordance with the policies and procedures
- Follow up on submitted financial assistance applications timely
- Inform patients of approvals or denials
- Answer patient questions
- Insurance verification and eligibility
- Updating Demographics and Insurance
