Position: Plant Service Engineer
Salary: $95-125k
Hours: If not on the road, 8-5pm at the plant
Travel: 70-75% travel.
Other notes: Need valid drivers license and a passport
Must Haves:
- Associates degree OR Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude
- Familiarity with Lean processes and Continuous Improvement tools
- Power Fluids Experience
- Experience with Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pump Decks
- Air Compressor Experience
- Sizing Installation Experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Position requires a full range of body motion, including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting, and the ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicle
Plusses:
- Plastic extrusion or injection mold experience
- HVAC Experience in the Military
Day to Day: A client of Insight Global is looking for an engineer who can work in their plants and travel 70-75% of the time. The main duties of this engineer will include installing, troubleshooting, and upgrading chillers, cooling towers, and pump decks. These chillers are used to keep their machines working, ensuring production runs smoothly.
The Plant Service Engineer is responsible for successfully implementing various manufacturing platforms that are used for production in both domestic and international locations. The Plant Services Engineer acts as the project manager for implementing some projects and participates in the implementation on the plant floor in many others. Plant Service Group engineers are the liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Perform & Understand AutoCAD/Solidworks drawings and functions while maintaining mechanical and electrical drawing files
- Lead lean Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts (A3, 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams, etc.) to improve process and equipment reliability
- Develop plant layouts with Project Engineering support
- May have "regional" responsibility, providing multi-plant assistance
- Routinely provide hands-on equipment and process troubleshooting & training
- Provide leadership support for Equipment Installations
- Install new production lines
- Support Engineering on R & D of new equipment and processes.
