• 15-20 years of experience in architectural metals manufacturing (decorative and miscellaneous packages) • High awareness of commercial construction practices and requirements, and the local market (strong reputation among and relationships with GCs, Architects, designers, and competitive awareness): estimating, design, value engineering, procurement, project management, and scheduling • Strong understanding of metal manufacturing processes: facility floor layout, technological oversight, welding and sheet metal techniques, equipment management, raw material and consumable sourcing and management, finishing, and safety standards • Proven ability to recruit, lead and manage high-performance teams, leveraging highly technical platforms and the best equipment the market has to offer • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to adapt to fast-changing environments • High level of technology adoption required: must be familiar takeoff, BOM, ERP, MRP, track and trace, and field services solutions

Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Production Director for a metal manufacturing client in Austin, TX. The Production Director will oversee and optimize all aspects of production operations, specializing in the design and fabrication of miscellaneous/decorative metal packages for high-end and large scale commercial projects.
This role requires extensive experience in architectural metal manufacturing, fabrication engineering, as well as a deep understanding of and connectivity to commercial construction practices and key relationships. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage both on-site construction and production environments. Additionally, candidate must have the ability to foster key customer relationships at an executive level.
Responsibilities include:
• Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the production team, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Production Oversight: Oversee all aspects of the production process from product development, raw materials handling, to final finishing— ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Commercial Construction Expertise: Utilize extensive knowledge of commercial construction to guide production strategies and ensure alignment with project specifications and stakeholders.
• Architectural Metal Experience: Apply expertise in architectural metals manufacturing to derive real time value engineered alternatives, optimize production techniques— enhancing production performance and throughput, by way of technology and data driven decision making.
• On-Site and Production Experience: Leverage experience from both construction job sites and production environments to streamline operations by identifying issues before they arise.
• Process Improvement: Implement and refine operational procedures to improve production efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Resource Management: Manage budgeting, procurement of materials, and inventory to optimize resource allocation and minimize waste.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with estimating, design, and product development teams to align production operations with business objectives.
• Training and Development: Mentor and train production staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess production quality and operational efficiency.
Expected Salary: $150-$200k plus quarterly production bonus, full benefits, and matched retirement & ESOP participation
