Day to Day:
A client if Insight Global is hiring for a Sr. Manager of Data Engineering to support their Data/Software Engineering teams. This person will provide leadership, mentoring and development of a team of software data engineers while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Your day-to-day activities will involve developing and executing the data engineering platform strategy in alignment with our data and analytics strategic goals, designing and implementing scalable data pipelines, data warehousing solutions, and data frameworks. You will identify potential operational and financial risks, oversee the stability and reliability of the data platform, and use Economic Thinking to refine our FinOps point-of-view and reporting metrics. You will oversee and ensure best practices, coding standards, and quality processes in a streamlined DevSecOps environment, ensuring quick deployment of code changes. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to work closely with business and technology partners, portfolio and demand management, data architecture, and across data and analytics teams to understand their data needs, effectively communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Must Haves Qualifications
- 10 Years of experience in data and analytics roles or leading large technology teams.
- 10 Years of experience in data warehousing, data engineering, and BI development projects
- 5 Years of experience in a managerial/leadership position, leading engineers, developers, etc
- Strong understanding of data architecture, governance, and management.
- 10 years of experience in a data and platform engineering project management roll
- Experience with AWS Cloud Data Engineering Practices (Spark, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, Deltalake, RedShift, Snowflake, Elastic Search, DynamoDB, Firehose, Kafka)
- Experience in Python, Data Engineering Libraries, SQL, and other languages
- Experience with full software development lifecycle including coding standards, unit testing, CI/CD, multi-environment development.
Plusses:
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks.
- Advanced skills in data analytics, including statistical analysis and machine learning.
- Experience with scalable data processing and consumption.
- Knowledge of modern data practices, including data products and data science.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
- Certifications in cloud technologies or data engineering.
Compensation:
$160,000 to $220,000 per year annual salary.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
