A midstream oil and gas company in Houston, TX, is looking for a Measurement Volume Analyst to join their team. Three of the managers for this team are Houston based, and this contractor will be supporting all three. This person will be working with upstream and downstream business groups to ensure a complete and timely transfer of required measurement related information all on the Natural Gas pipelines. The Measurement Analyst performs a variety of critical volume processing, balancing and data integrity related tasks that will support the goals and initiatives of the Measurement Department and the corporation. The Measurement Analyst uses knowledge, skills, and abilities to identify measurement inaccuracies and applies critical thinking skills to resolve problems and provide accurate measurement information. They will be pulling, comparing, and analyzing data within excel and the measurement application. The Measurement Analyst performs investigative activities to resolve product imbalances on company owned assets. They will need to learn the companys proprietary, measurement application.
Specifics on the type of data they will be analyzing : They have measurement facilities everywhere, and they sell / transport big meters to their clients. They are constantly looking at the pressure, temperature, etc. of each meter and analyzing the data types. They are looking for trends or if pressure / temperature has changed, and if it makes sense based on where the meter is located. They are supporting any asset that this team is responsible for in natural gas (gathering, midstream, transmission). The main difference between the data from these different assets is how the system operates, otherwise they are all essentially the same.
2 years of experience in a corporate environment
Bachelors Degree required (any field accounting, business, etc. numbers based)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel pivot tables, vlookups, - will use for Ad Hoc Analysis (comparing different meter data, comparing graphs, will manually enter data in excel, etc.)
Proficient in Word, Teams & Outlook (lots of emails, commercial teams & field operations)
Motivated, go-getter personality
