Insight provides underground utility services and is honored to have contributed to the successful completion of several high-profile projects in the Washington DC Metro area for the last twenty years. We are seeking a Project Manager with utility infrastructure experience to oversee the safe and efficient execution of multiple projects simultaneously. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience managing underground utility projects.
Job Summary
- Manage the construction workflow process starting in the project origination phase to project closeout
- Create, manage, and track project schedules to drive project performance
- Prepare and communicate weekly project progress reports with senior management
- Review and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide construction activities
- Track production quantities for weekly billing
- Proactively identify issues and facilitate solutions
- Manage client satisfaction, and take immediate action to respond to problems and concerns
- Acquire and manage all permits and other regulatory prerequisites when needed
- Visit project work sites, to assure safety, quality, and cleanliness to assist in the management of the overall contracted scope of work; when needed
- Prepare and submit project deliverables and submittal data
- Assist field personnel in any capacity to handle any problems that may arise
- Work with field management, foreman and field crew to perform work more efficiently
- Attend pre-construction meetings
- Manage the project closeout process to ensure timely completion
- Other tasks as required
Requirements:
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong work ethic
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple construction projects simultaneously and work independently under pressure and tight deadlines
Education and Experience:
- B.S. degree in engineering or construction management with a minimum of 7 years of experience with a commercial and/or industrial general contractor or 12 years of directly related experience with no degree
- In-depth general construction knowledge and utility infrastructure knowledge preferred
- Proficient with spreadsheets, email, and other software used in the construction industry
- Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in government contracting is preferred
- Current safety credentials to include OSHA 30 1, First Aid, and CPR 1
This position requires the successful completion of a pre-employment drug and background screen and a good driving record.
