Our Biomechanics Research Lab Associate will play a crucial role in supporting research activities within the biomechanics field. The Biomechanic Research Lab Associate will assist the lab supervisor and researchers, collect & process data, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring smooth lab operations.
The Biomechanics Research Lab Associate will report to the Product Testing Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the Global IT Director include, but are not limited to:
Data Collection and Processing:
- Conduct laboratory studies using specified protocols and equipment.
- Collect and record project data accurately.
- Assist in setting up and executing biomechanical studies.
- Collaborate with researchers to ensure data integrity.
Data Processing and Analysis:
- Process, organize, and summarize data.
- Utilize scientific, word processing, spreadsheet, and PowerPoint applications to report study results.
- Assist in analyzing biomechanical data.
Lab Maintenance and Safety:
- Maintain lab cleanliness and organization.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols.
- Assist in ordering and managing lab supplies.
Literature Review and Documentation:
- Assist in literature searches and reviews related to biomechanics research.
- Document procedures and findings.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Ability to repeatedly conduct detailed laboratory tasks.
- Communicates professionally and courteously in both oral and written form with industry staff, university faculty and staff, students, and the public.
- Work closely with other lab members, including fellow researchers and interns.
- Participate in lab meetings and discussions.
- Communicate effectively with team members.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field, preferred.
Experience
- Prior experience in a research lab setting is preferred but not mandatory.
Skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient knowledge of Office 365 Suite – Microsoft OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Planner, and other MS applications.
- Proficiency in data collection techniques and equipment operation.
- Familiarity with biomechanical analysis tools.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology and biomechanics.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding testing, test participants, and results.
