Commercial Lines Account Manager

We seek a Commercial Lines Account Manager to be responsible for all aspects of new and renewal Commercial insurance business and ensure clients receive excellent customer service. In this position, you will maintain the Agency Management System (TAMS) database with all policy information, quote and write new business, and maintain the retention of the existing book of business.
To thrive as the Commercial Lines Account Manager, you should have:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 1-3 years of related experience in commercial insurance, sales, or account management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must hold and maintain a Property & Casualty (P&C) Agent’s License and complete required continuing education as mandated. A minimum of 1-2 years of Commercial Insurance experience is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with preferred experience using TAMS Policy Management System and online insurance quoting platforms.
- Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, write professional correspondence, and effectively present information. Capable of applying mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to insurance-related transactions.
- Demonstrates sound reasoning skills to navigate and resolve challenges in a standardized business setting. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to evolving industry trends and client needs.
Your responsibilities as the Commercial Lines Account Manager will include:
- Reviews daily insurance carrier reports for cancellations, endorsements, expirations, and renewals, ensuring timely processing of all transactions, memos, invoices, and documentation related to commercial policies.
- Coordinates communication with customers and mortgage companies regarding policy renewals, payments, invoices, and proof of insurance, ensuring all parties receive necessary documents and updates.
- Processes insurance payments, applies funds to accounts, posts transactions in the system, and maintains accurate bookkeeping records, including creating Sweep Sheets for accounting purposes.
- Completes quote questionnaires by researching properties, obtaining quotes from multiple carriers, and coordinating with insurers to bind and process policies according to client needs.
- Maintains organized filing systems for daily reports, expiration reports, and workflow documentation, assists with office operations such as supply orders and deposits, and ensures all policies remain in good standing through diligent monitoring.
