As the Director, Human Resources & Administration, you will lead the strategic direction and oversight of the Human Resources (HR) and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) functions, ensuring alignment with the organization’s long-term growth goals. You will be responsible for driving HR and HSE programs that enhance business performance, foster a high-performing culture, and support the company's overall success. As a senior leader, you will set the tone for developing effective, sustainable HR and HSE strategies that support organizational objectives and promote a safe and positive work environment.
To thrive, you should have:
- A related University degree and typically 10 years of related experience or a combination of formal education and experience.
- At least 5 years of senior people leadership experience overseeing HR and HSE functions.
- Preferred professional designation such as SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) for HR professionals.
- Additional safety compliance, project management, and/or change management training is an asset.
- Experience implementing and managing safety programs, including compliance with OSHA or similar regulatory bodies, incident response, and risk management. Experience in the Oil & Gas industry or other trades-related organizations is a plus.
- Solid background in HR trends, employment standards, occupational health and safety regulations, and experience in a leadership role managing HR, payroll, and safety functions within a complex organization.
Your responsibilities as the Director, Human Resources & Administration will include:
- In partnership with the SVP, lead and oversee the planning, organization, and delivery of strategic and tactical HR and safety services aligned with the organization’s goals, including organizational design, workforce planning, and corporate project implementation.
- Ensure seamless delivery of HR and safety services across the organization, focusing on a positive client experience while collaborating with internal teams to develop innovative solutions to emerging HR and safety challenges.
- Act as a role model in promoting the desired corporate culture, fostering high performance and ensuring employee engagement at all levels.
- Provide hands-on, consultative support in talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, workplace safety, and resolving work-related issues.
- Identify and address evolving organizational needs through research and analysis, partnering with senior leadership to implement best practices and practical solutions.
- Design and implement leadership succession, talent management, and performance initiatives to ensure alignment with corporate strategies and support the leadership team's continuous development and growth.
