As the Human Resources Generalist, you will manage the Human Resources (HR) department's day-to-day functions, which include hiring staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
To thrive, you should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- 1-3 years of human resources management experience, with a strong understanding of HR best practices, is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CCP, or similar are highly preferred.
- Strong familiarity with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance and policy adherence.
- Experience with HRIS and talent management systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
Your responsibilities as the Human Resources Generalist will include:
- Track, document, and enforce compliance with mandatory training, certifications, and work assessments, including safety and anti-harassment programs.
- Collaborate with managers to assess hiring needs, conduct background checks, verify employee eligibility, and lead new hire orientation programs.
- Support and execute HR initiatives related to compensation, benefits, leave, performance management, employee recognition, and workplace safety.
- Address routine employment-related inquiries, assist in disciplinary actions, and participate in employee investigations and terminations as needed.
- Stay updated on employment laws and HR best practices, ensuring company policies comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
