Medical Assistant – Front Office

Led by a world-renowned oncologist and researcher, our client’s center is a pioneer in creating cutting-edge therapies for patients with myeloma and associated blood cancers. The center is located near Beverly Hills in the Sunset Medical Tower in West Hollywood, California.
We're seeking a skilled Front Office Medical Assistant to join our team and play a vital role in supporting our healthcare professionals as we work to improve the lives of our patients. Your responsibilities as the Medical Assistant will include:
- Initiate patient visit in EMR, which includes taking patient vitals (blood pressure, height, weight, SPO2, temperature, heart rate)
- Keep continuous patient flow in the clinic, patients in the room, and other RN patients
- Complete pharmacy refills in the EMR portal
- Receives patients’ phone calls for refills, monitors their fax requests, and responds in a timely fashion
- Place medical supplies orders under the supervision of the head nurse
- Draw blood, give injections, and perform EKGs (if needed)
- Assist Dr. Berenson with bone marrow biopsies
- Restock medical supply carts in the clinic as needed
- Update chart lab result reports for patients seen in the clinic daily
- Assist in the turnover of clinic rooms between patients by cleaning and restocking any necessary supplies
- Keep updated inventory logs and manage clinic/pharmacy supply inventory
- Administrative duties as needed (pre-authorizations, filing, scheduling, VOB, etc.)
We seek a detail-oriented Medical Assistant to utilize their initiative and organizational skills to keep our doctor moving at top performance. As an ideal candidate, you should have:
- Certificate/diploma showing completion of medical assistant courses/training
- CPR training certificate
- 2-3 years of clinic/hospital experience
- Excellent analytical and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to multitask
