What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analyst, Master Patient Index- HIM, Full-Time, Woodbury position at Inspira Health Network?
MAJOR FUNCTION:
This position will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and maintaining data integrity within the EMPI (Enterprise-wide Master Patient Index) and portions of documentation within the chart. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring that the information exchanged between all Inspira Health Network entities and the health information exchange (HIE) databases is accurate. This position will require working with the HIM Business Analyst, HIM Coding Supervisor, and various ancillary and registration system administrators to ensure that corrections are completed and communicated in a timely manner. This position will serve as the main resource for Data Integrity Clerks. This position will serve as the Health Information Management liaison to other applicable department personnel to identify and assist with resolving sources of registration and documentation errors. This position will work with the HIM Business Analyst to identify and work through any computer application issues that affect the MPI.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- Associate degree in HIM, Management, or Computer Science preferred.
- Other degrees or related coursework considered based on relevant work experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of acute care and ambulatory setting experience
- Previous experience with electronic MPI, HIE, patient registration and billing, and clinical system processes preferred. Cerner and Soarian applications required.
Certification/Licensure:
- RHIA, RHIT, or CHDA certification preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Health Information Management functions.
- Working knowledge of computer systems and programs (including MS Word, Excel and Adobe products).
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with all levels of staff
- Knowledge of policy and procedure development
- Ability to develop training materials.
- Excellent customer service, analytical, problem solving and presentation skills.
- Ability to: Organize and prioritize work. Work effectively with rapidly changing priorities Articulate problems and offer solutions to resolve them. Make decisions in the absence of a supervisor or manager. Analyze data, problem solve, implement solutions to problems correctly, and write procedures for a variety of computer-based tasks. Work independently or in a team setting.
