Responsibilities
Investigate, manage, and resolve general liability and workers’ compensation claims as assigned.
Responsible for initial intake and reporting of new claims to our third-party claim administrator.
Assist with claims preparation, including obtaining statements, collecting and cataloging evidence, and verifying medical treatment.
Document claims in Riskonnect RMIS platform.
Responsible for initial intake and reporting of new claims to our third-party administrator.
Assist Claims Analysts in completing administrative tasks.
Process incoming medical bills, collection notices, and legal notices.
Prepare wage statements for workers’ compensation claims.
Prepare and submit claim related payment requests to accounting team.
Partner with Facilities team regarding insurance related tasks.
Review and approve property claims to ensure appropriate coding.
Assist Claims Manager in updating claim status reports.
Verify and update claims coding for accuracy.
Distribute brand specific reports.
Assist Claims Manager in identifying risk trends.
Assist Risk Management Technology Manager with RMIS claim configuration, data imports, and testing.
Complete OSHA Surveys.
Review incoming guest experience surveys and determine reporting of new claims.
Assess incoming requests in Workday Help Center and Risk Management email.
Assign cases to team members within the Risk Management department.
Education and Experience Qualifications
College degree, preferable in risk management or insurance, or equivalent work experience.
1-2 years' experience managing casualty claims in a risk management department, third party claim administrator or insurance company claims department.
Required Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities
Outstanding customer service skills.
Professional writing skills, including editing and proofing and the ability to use correct sentence structure and grammar.
Knowledge of insurance policies and terms, especially commercial general liability and workers’ compensation.
Flexible team player with effective interpersonal skills.
Effective negotiation skills when managing and negotiating in-house claims.
Knowledge of litigation processes and related documents.
