Our Government client in Carson City NV/ Las Vegas NV is looking for an IT Programmer/Oracle Database Programmer/Developer (PL/SQL Programmer).
PL/SQL Programmer
Scope of Work:
- Project Overview:
- The IT Programmer will be responsible for upgrading (or creating new) Oracle database and data warehouse views, stored procedures, Unix Shell scripts, batch jobs, and other items from multiple legacy, on-premises Oracle databases (12c and 19c) to our new, cloud-based ERP database solution (Oracle 19c).
- Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new PL/SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures to support data integration between the legacy data warehouse and the new ERP.
- Modify and optimize existing PL/SQL code to improve performance and functionality.
- Collaborate with the project team to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Perform data analysis and validation to ensure accuracy and completeness of data transfers.
- Document all developed code, scripts, and procedures thoroughly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data integration and interface functionality.
- Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Oracle s PL/SQL is essential.
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Experience with UNIX Shell scripting and Scheduler jobs (Cosmos or Automate).
- Experience with SQL*Loader and mod_plsql package.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Prior experience in ERP data integration projects is a plus.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Work Environment:
- Standard working hours.
- The work may require occasional flexibility in hours to accommodate project needs.
- The position may involve remote work depending on individual capabilities and Project criteria.
- Deliverables:
- Functional and efficient PL/SQL code (or other scripting code as required).
- Documentation of developed code and procedures.
- Timely resolution of issues and bugs related to data interfaces.
- Evaluation and Feedback:
- Regular performance evaluations based on deliverables, teamwork, and adherence to project timelines.
- Continuous feedback to improve performance and enhance project outcomes.
- Additional Information:
- The IT Programmer will report to IT Manager and collaborate closely with the project team members.
