Lead Network Implementation Engineer

Job Title: Network Design Engineer
Location: Dallas, TX (uptown area of Dallas, near downtown)
Type of Role: Hybrid, (onsite 3 days per week)
Compensation: Salary between $125,000 to $135,000 annual bonus

What you will do:
Team Lead Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of network implementation engineers, fostering skill development and collaboration.
• Serve as the technical escalation point for complex network implementation issues.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables.

Network Implementation

• Design, deploy, and implement Cisco networking solutions, including routers, switches (Catalyst, Nexus), and wireless LAN controllers.
• Configure and implement Palo Alto firewalls, leveraging advanced security features such as App-ID, Threat Prevention, and VPNs.
• Deploy and manage wireless solutions, including conducting RF site surveys, optimizing wireless coverage, and configuring access points.
• Implement and manage Cisco Meraki solutions, including switches, wireless, and security appliances, ensuring seamless integration across the enterprise network.

Network Optimization & Troubleshooting

• Optimize network performance by configuring routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and implementing QoS policies.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resolution.
• Analyze network performance metrics and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure network implementations adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA, NIST).
• Implement secure VPN solutions (IPSec, SSL) and enforce firewall policies for data protection.
• Collaborate with security teams to integrate Zero Trust principles into the network design.
• Documentation & Reporting
• Develop and maintain detailed network implementation plans, diagrams, and configuration documentation.
• Provide post-implementation support and training to internal teams.
• Present project status updates and technical insights to stakeholders and management.

Who you are:
Required Skills:

• Expertise in Cisco technologies, including Catalyst/Nexus switches, routers, and wireless solutions (CCNP/CCIE preferred).
• Proficiency in configuring and managing Palo Alto firewalls (PCNSE certification preferred).
• Strong experience with wireless technologies, including RF planning, Cisco WLC, and Meraki wireless solutions.
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing Cisco Meraki products (e.g., MR, MS, MX, Meraki Dashboard).
• Advanced knowledge of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, IPv4/IPv6).
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark, Meraki Insights).

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies and hybrid cloud integrations.
• Familiarity with automation tools (Python, Ansible) to streamline deployment processes.
• Experience with network segmentation and Zero Trust architecture.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in network implementation, design, and leadership roles.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, CWNP) are highly desirable.
