About the Role
IALR is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Contract Recruiter to support talent acquisition efforts within our Manufacturing Advancement division. This role will focus on sourcing, recruiting, and onboarding high-caliber talent for a variety of specialized and technical positions. These roles span multiple disciplines, including advanced manufacturing, engineering, business development, and support roles critical to the success of our mission-driven organization.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in recruiting within industries associated with the defense and submarine industrial bases, demonstrating the ability to identify, attract, and engage highly skilled professionals in niche markets. This is a remote contract position, offering flexibility of up to 40 hours per week, with occasional travel to our Danville, Virginia, headquarters.
This role is not eligible for IALR's benefits offerings. The expected contract period is three to six months.
Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Recruitment: Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from creating job postings and sourcing candidates to conducting interviews and facilitating the hiring process.

Talent Sourcing: Utilize a variety of sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, professional networks, and industry events, to identify highly qualified candidates.

Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with educational institutions, workforce development organizations, and industry associations to cultivate a strong talent pipeline.

Technical and Specialized Recruiting: Focus on recruiting for roles that require specific technical skills and experience, particularly those relevant to advanced manufacturing, engineering, and defense-related positions.

Candidate Assessment: Evaluate candidates' skills, experience, and cultural fit through detailed screening processes, including behavioral and competency-based interviews.

Collaboration: Work closely with hiring managers and department leaders to understand role requirements and develop targeted recruitment strategies.

Market Insights: Provide insights into market trends, salary benchmarks, and hiring practices within the defense and submarine industrial bases.

Onboarding Support: Collaborate with HR and department teams to ensure a smooth transition for new hires, including coordinating pre-employment checks and onboarding activities.

Compliance and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities and ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, as well as IALR policies and procedures.

The Ideal Candidate

Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of recruiting experience, with a strong emphasis on hiring for highly specialized and technical roles.
- Proven experience in industries related to the defense and submarine industrial bases.
- Demonstrated success in recruiting for a diverse range of roles, from technical positions to senior leadership.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, AIRS) are a plus.

Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of talent acquisition strategies and best practices.
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with legal and compliance aspects of recruitment, particularly for positions requiring security clearances or compliance with ITAR/EAR regulations.

Salary & Benefits
The contract pay rate depends on experience. This role is not eligible to participate in IALR's benefits offerings.
