Academic Research Analyst
Job Summary:The Academic Research Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, presenting, interpreting, and explaining data on research published within the disciplines of economics, political science, philosophy, law, and history. Reporting to the Director of Academic Research, this individual will utilize their data literacy, customer-focused report writing, pattern recognition, analytical and critical thinking skills, along with their knowledge of the Academy and classical liberal principles, to support IHS in solving problems and measuring performance.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Evaluate, collect, and analyze data on IHS programs (funding, conferences, seminars) and partners to measure their efficacy and impact.
Independently produce written reports based on data that clearly articulate research outcomes and help answer customer questions.
Innovate with new data sources to increase our ability to assess multiple parts of the academic impact story.
Innovate with our present tools to find new uses and to continually improve data utilization in organizational decision-making.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
A BA or BS degree in social science or a comparable field.
Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
Able to effectively compose analyses and reports.
Data literacy with statistics knowledge preferred.
A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and handle and prioritize simultaneous requests.
Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders of varying levels of experience and across disciplines.
Ability to critically evaluate and prioritize information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts.
Familiarity with Salesforce (or comparable CRM systems) and Excel preferred.
A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex processes.
A curious nature with a strong drive to learn and grow, and willingness to learn additional data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or R.
Basic knowledge of classical liberal ideas and academic research.
