About the Role

We are seeking a Licensed Property & Casualty Insurance Producer to expand our book of business in personal and/or commercial lines. As a 1099 independent contractor, you’ll have the autonomy to develop client relationships, generate new business, and provide exceptional service—all while working remotely with flexible hours.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Lead Generation

Proactively seek out new clients through networking, referrals, and digital marketing efforts.

Develop strong relationships with referral partners, including mortgage brokers, realtors, and business professionals.

Consultative Sales & Policy Binding

Assess clients' needs and recommend tailored insurance solutions.

Present and explain coverage options, policy details, and endorsements.

Complete applications accurately and efficiently, ensuring all underwriting requirements are met.

Client Service & Retention

Provide ongoing support, including policy changes, billing inquiries, and claims assistance.

Conduct annual policy reviews to ensure clients have adequate coverage.

Build lasting relationships to encourage referrals and long-term loyalty.

Compliance & Documentation

Maintain an active Connecticut P&C insurance license and meet continuing education requirements.

Follow ethical sales practices and ensure compliance with state regulations.

Keep detailed client records in the agency management system.

Quoting & Policy Comparisons

Work with multiple carriers to find the best coverage and pricing for clients.

Clearly explain policy differences and help clients make informed decisions.

 

Qualifications & Skills

License:  Active Property & Casualty Insurance License in Connecticut (Required).

 Experience:  2-5 years managing personal and/or commercial lines accounts and driving sales.  10 years (Preferred): Advanced expertise in sales strategy and book management.

 Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with QQ Catalyst, PL Rater, or similar systems (Preferred).

 Sales & Communication Skills: Ability to educate, consult, and close deals with confidence.

 Independent Work Ethic: Ability to manage tasks, time, and priorities in a remote setting.

 

Position Details & Perks

Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor

Location: Fully Remote (Must be based in Connecticut or deeply familiar with the CT market)

Hours: Flexible; minimum 15-20 hours per week recommended

Compensation: Competitive commission structure (60% NB, 25% renewals) bonus potential
