Access Control Technician

Allstates Consulting Services is looking for ccess Control Technician to work with our partner out of the Nashville, TN area. / This position does require extensive travel but you are p[aid for travel time and when required to stay overnight a daily per diem of $140.00 is paid. You will also need to provide yur own transportation but mileage is paid for the use of your vehicle. Pay is $28.00 - 30.00 per hour.

Requirements :

Experience as a Low Voltage Cable Technician.

• Demonstrated experience leading teams of technicians on multi-week projects.
• Available and willing for extensive travel nationwide.
• Ability to work primarily night shifts.
• Flexible and willing to work on-call, day, night, weekend, or overtime shifts as the job requires.
• Able to lead small teams (2 to 3 people).
• Strong knowledge of industry standards (BICSI, NEC, TIA / EIA).
• Industry-specific certifications (BICSI, Systimax, Panduit, Beldon, Corning) are a huge plus.
• Capable of reading blueprints and site maps.
• Experience in CCTV, voice, Fire Alarm and data cabling is a plus.
• Knowledge of CAT6 cabling and installation of small equipment (switches / brides / cameras).
• Excellent customer relationship and communication skills; verbal and written.
• Ability to consistently complete projects within budget, on time, and in a safe manner.
• Proficient with the use of computers, including email, spreadsheets, PDF documentation, and databases Microsoft Office programs.
• Must be comfortable working unsupervised and also effectively communicating and collaborating with teams of 4 to 20 other technicians.
• Knowledgeable in identifying independent colors and learning color codes.
• Knowledge of Cat5 / CAT6 cabling and installation of small equipment : switches, brides, cameras (specifically Axis).
• Able to neatly dress and terminate large bundles of cables inside IDF and MDF cabinets.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills; this position frequently requires customer and General Contract interactions.
• Ability to work in cramped spaces.
• Ability to operate a BOOM or scissor lift (19'); and to work at heights.
• Has basic telecommunication tools, all industry hand tools, and PPE.
• Reliable transportation with required insurance coverage.
• Must have knowledge of cabling infrastructure.
• Experience in conduit installation is a plus.
• Execute advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.

Responsibilities :

Install, troubleshoot, and maintenance of various structured cabling systems including fiber, Cat5 and Cat6 in retail environments.
