Geotechnical Driller
Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled Geotechnical Driller to join our well-established, growing company. The ideal candidate will have experience in geotechnical drilling and will play a key role in performing field investigations, supervising drilling operations, and maintaining equipment. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate drilling equipment including mud rotary wash (SPT) and auger drill rigs.
- Supervise and train drillers helper(s) to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
- Drive and operate drill rigs and support vehicles safely and professionally.
- Locate and understand utility markings and geotechnical boring locations in the field.
- Assist with site preparation and clearing for geotechnical investigations.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on drilling equipment, rigs, and support vehicles (basic mechanical knowledge required).
- Keep accurate and detailed field records, including soil classification and field boring logs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in geotechnical drilling.
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds multiple times per day.
- Must be willing to work early hours, stay on-site late if needed, and adapt to project demands.
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings.
Preferred Skills:
- Valid Drivers license with clean driving record
- Strong mechanical aptitude, particularly with diesel and gasoline engines.
- Experience with geotechnical investigation practices, soil classification, and logging.
Job Type: Full-time
