What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Production Planning Manager position at Integra Mission Critical LLC?
The Material Production Planning Manager directs and coordinates activities to ensure timely production to meet the site objectives and end user demand through direct interface with suppliers, and internal cross functional teams. The Materials Production Planning Manager is responsible for the creation of a supply plan and for managing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the expedient flow of parts through the manufacturing processes to satisfy the customers’ delivery requirements. Additionally, this individual is responsible for ensuring the right levels of raw materials and work in process are available for Operations to successfully execute the supply plan.
The Materials Production Planning Manager ensures the site is balancing supply versus demand each month; identifying areas where the segment is out of balance and proactively recommends options/scenarios to align across functions/locations.
- Communicates directly and through the Planning Team with internal stakeholders regarding a) the status of order fulfillment, b) future risks to demand attainment, and c) capacity constraints impacting success.
- Coordinates with SIOP teams concerning current and future demand.
- Acts as liaison between Integra’s stake holders, manufacturing and support teams.
- Develops master production schedule to establish sequence and lead-time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to orderbook.
- Takes action to drive daily shipments which achieve monthly objectives.
- Analyzes demand against plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
- Plans and directs production activities including any outsource vendors and establishes production priorities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
- Coordinates delivery schedule and other supply chain activities.
- Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
- Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
- Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems based on synchronous manufacturing principles.
- Prepares production reports as required.
- Analyzes physical inventory and works in a cross-functional capacity enhance inventory turnover.
- Oversees the raw material line of balance process including the accurate forecast of needs to each raw material and outsource supplier.
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years minimum experience in a leadership position in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills (presentations, verbal and written).
- Highly knowledgeable with production planning concepts such as MRP.
- Understanding of Budget responsibility and Profit and Loss management
- Exceptional analytical and conceptional thinking skills
- Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement / Lean methodologies
- Heavy manufacturing assembly experience
- APICS CPIM/CSCP certification
