Job Summary:
To promote the mission of ICLP to help individuals achieve a more independent and fulfilling life by being an effective team member and ensuring the properties are maintained to present a safe, welcoming environment to live in, work and receive services. The General Maintenance Worker will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist, perform or arrange the completion of maintenance functions in all agency facilities. This includes making repairs, requesting support from outside contractors and other team members.
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Arrange to complete necessary maintenance as issues arise.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Drive agency vehicles when necessary for site relocations, residential client moves or material pickup.
- Monitor heating, ventilation and air conditioning daily.
- Assure snow removal from sidewalks, walkways, parking lots and driveways of all ICLP properties.
- Order and pick up hardware materials necessary for ongoing maintenance projects.
- Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing nonstructural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair.
- Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
- Support and maintain facilities inventory system
- Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
- Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Related experience preferred.
- On-the-job training offered.
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
