Accountant

Integrated Facility Services is a leading Mechanical Contractor in Missouri, servicing the St. Louis metropolitan area for over 55 years. IFS provides HVAC, building automation, plumbing, fire protection, and system design and installation. The Accountant performs varied accounting tasks to support the company. This role is vital in completing month end and year end tasks. Integrated Facility Services is 100% employee owned and operated with an ESOP- excellent retirement benefit and profit sharing.

• Perform monthly financial statement close
• Annualizes various balance sheet and income statement accounts monthly
• Issues accounts payable and subcontractor payments, including managing positive pay
• Review payroll for accuracy
• Performs multiple procedures and analysis at month and year end
• Maintain fixed asset files
• Maintains the chart of accounts, financial statements and overhead cost codes
• Prepare documents for annual financial statement audit
• Participates in general liability and workers compensation insurance audits annually
• Performs various bank reconciliations
• Testing accounting software upgrades and solutions when issues arise that impact accounting
• Process quarterly and annual payroll and use tax returns, including Form W-2s

• Working knowledge of all areas of accounting
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
• Experience with ERP systems a plus
• Ability to use 10-key by touch
• Ability to use standard office equipment

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance preferred or equivalent experience
• Previous Accounting experience is required
• Exposure to cost accounting or experience in the construction field preferred

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
