The role

The role of a Business Development Officer is to provide business development services for settlement consultants, case managers and their clients. This position will be responsible for coordinating with Leadership, Business Development Team and Consultants to oversee the opportunity development and assist settlement consultants and case managers in opening new accounts and structuring settlements. Additionally, the Business Development Officer will support integrated settlement solutions that will include annuities in combination with trust services. This role is tasked with growing and retaining existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients.

  • Key skills / experience required

  • A bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years of consulting, sales and marketing experience.
  • Experience in Networking, Persuasion, Prospecting, Public Speaking, Research, Writing, Closing Skills, Motivation for Sales, Prospecting Skills, Sales Planning, Identification of Customer Needs and Challenges, Territory Management, Market Knowledge, Meeting Sales Goals, Professionalism, CRM, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working in the Structured Settlements Industry.
  • Serve as a NSSTA Member.
  • CSSC certification from the National Structured Settlement Trade Association.
  • CTFA certification (Certified Trust and Financial Advisor) from the American Bankers Association.
  • Active insurance license or obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Work environment

  • 40-hour work week.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours as needed based on business needs.
  • Regularly communicates both verbally and in writing.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components.
  • Physical effort and activities include : Light physical effort is required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and / or up to 10 pounds frequently.
