What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Integrated Health Service, LLC?
This position is working with the Dentist & Hygienist 3 days a week (Wednesday's mandatory the other 2 days flexible) providing services to scholars enrolled in our School Based Health Center. We have a dental office in 2 of our Magnet Schools, the dental assistant position is during school hours assisting the Dentist, Dental Hygienist, and Assistant Director of SBHC .
Job Description:
- Assesses EHR records for oral exam status, coordinates treatment plan(s) and schedules appointments.
- Follow up and schedule appointments as identified in treatment plan.
- Follow up and collaborate with School Personnel and Parents/Guardians regarding scholar appointments and obtaining legal permissions.
- Responsible for centralized scheduling and coordinating operations at all SBHC dental sites, ensuring supplies and equipment are available at each site.
- Assists chairside to Dentist in restorative procedures/extractions.
- Sterilization /Set up/ and prep of dental instruments and exam room.
- Obtains x-rays of patients
- Participates in EHR Dental Trainings, implements Dental EHRs charting as directed by Dentist/RDH as appropriate and HIPAA compliant.
- Records visit information into Dental spread sheet in one drive.
- Checks eligibility and dental records on state website.
- Position location will vary as SBHC Program has multiple sites.
- Responsible for accompanying scholars from site to site as deemed necessary for appointments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education High School Diploma, GED, and at least one (1) year experience working in dental office/clinic.
Licensure/Registration/ X-ray Certification
Certifications Dental Assistant
Job Related Experience Some Experience working chairside dentistry and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· 1 year – Dental experience preferred.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
