POSITION SUMMARYDEFINITION Under general direction, and in accordance with the State of California Practice Nurse Act, plans, organizes, and supervises nursing staff; manages, reports on, and provides resources for direct patient care in the Surgical Services Unit as directed; and to perform related work as required.CLASS CHARACTERISTICSThis class reports directly to a senior level hospital management staff member and is characterized by having management and budgetary responsibility and control of major patient care units in the medical center.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSEducationPossession of Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
