File Clerk Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the flow of legal documents within the law firm. This includes accepting, sorting, copying, scanning, and filing all incoming legal mail to ensure accurate and efficient documentation. The File Clerk will maintain the integrity of our case management system by ensuring all legal documents are correctly digitized and physically filed. Additionally, the File Clerk will support the front office as a backup receptionist, providing exceptional customer service by greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and handling various administrative tasks. This role is vital to the smooth operation of our legal team and requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
File Clerk Responsibilities:
Accept and sort all incoming legal mail
Copy and scan legal documents into the case management system
Organize and physically file documents according to the appropriate legal team
Serve as a backup receptionist
Answer and direct phone calls
Greet and assist visitors
Handle general administrative tasks as needed
Other duties as assigned
File Clerk Knowledge & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
1-2 years of previous administrative experience
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in using case management systems and office equipment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
File Clerk Preferred Qualifications:
Legal experience preferred
Previous experience in a legal or administrative setting
Familiarity with document management systems
Salary : $30,000 - $41,000
