Job Summary
Our Purchasing Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement of hardware, software, and other technological products required by an organization. The Purchasing Specialists work with their team to evaluate and identify the technology required to meet the organization's needs.

- Research and evaluate products and services related to IT equipment and software purchases
- Negotiate pricing and contracts with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchases
- Manage supplier relationships and conduct supplier performance evaluations
- Develop and maintain inventory records and procurement schedules for IT equipment and software
- Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards and regulations for purchasing and information security
- Monitor market trends and technological advancements to inform purchasing decisions
- Provide support and guidance to end-u.sers on purchasing processes and procedures
- Devise and implement IT procurement strategies
- Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
- Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
- Collaborate with IT department to determine their supply needs
- Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
Minimum Requirements
- Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
- Talent in negotiations and networking
- Good knowledge of supplier or third-party management software
- Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- 1-2 business administration, or a related field in IT
- Strong understanding of IT hardware and software products and familiarity with various vendors and suppliers in the market.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure the best prices and terms on products, services, and contracts.
- Strong analytical skills to assess the cost-effectiveness and value of potential purchases.
- Effective communication skills to clearly articulate specifications and requirements to suppliers, as well as explain purchasing decisions to stakeholders within the organization.
- Superb organizational skills to manage multiple projects, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely delivery of purchased items.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and other relevant IT tools for tracking orders, evaluating supplier performance, and maintaining procurement records.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments, such as IT, finance, and operations, to align procurement strategies with business goals.
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the procurement process.
