What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Medical Assistant position at Integrated Pain Management Medical Group, Inc.?
The Front Desk Medical Assistant works directly with a Physician to assist in the examination and interviewing of patients and perform basic office duties. Basic office duties include being the focal point for the appointment system, registration, and ensures patients can access the services of Boomerang Healthcare. Responsible screening incoming appointment calls and will determine how to best respond to caller's needs.
What you will do
- Answers clinic phones and directs calls appropriately, monitors the queue to ensure calls are answered timely and appropriately.
- Schedules / reschedules appointments for patients according to patient's preference and written protocols.
- Answers questions and registers new patients as appropriate.
- Performs computer data entry in registration, scheduling and other programs as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinical Operations Manager.
- Works directly with our Physicians to assist the assessment and examination of patient.
- Record patient subjective information and concerns.
- Enters all information into the BHC EMR system.
- Periodically checks on patient welfare until Physician begins examination or procedure.
- Assists Physician in completing patient request forms.
- Performs daily exam room and stock room inspection, ensures supplies are adequate for patient care.
- Performs other back-office duties as directed.
- May be asked to travel to our other office locations to assist Physician as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience in a medical clinic, hospital or SNF setting: 1 year
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical documentation.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant course from an accredited/recognized school
- Current BCLS with AED certificates
