Responsibilities & Expectations
- Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator. As a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator for IPS you will be responsible for physical and transactional shipments, both incoming and outgoing.
- You will also verify and store records and assist with loading and unloading trucks.
- Entrepreneurial mindset ensuring the Shipping and Receiving department has a Customer First approach.
- Prepares shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; determines the most economical and efficient shipping method; selects appropriate shipping containers; packs items to ensure safe delivery.
- Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.
- Inspect shipments for damage or defects.
- Traces lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery, may maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.
- Review Purchase Order delivery dates and truck schedules to plan each workday.
- Assign and maintain inventory locations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Shipping & Receiving floor and Job Material staging areas.
- Will operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment.
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Operate forklift.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Records maintenance skills preferred.
- Inventory Management preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Good computer skills.
- Ability to lift, push or pull items up to 50 lbs. in weight.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written.
- Ability to understand following safety procedures.
- Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- High School diploma or GED required, associate’s degree or higher from an accredited college preferred.
