Shipping and Receiving Coordinator

Responsibilities & Expectations

• Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator. As a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator for IPS you will be responsible for physical and transactional shipments, both incoming and outgoing.
• You will also verify and store records and assist with loading and unloading trucks.
• Entrepreneurial mindset ensuring the Shipping and Receiving department has a Customer First approach.
• Prepares shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; determines the most economical and efficient shipping method; selects appropriate shipping containers; packs items to ensure safe delivery.
• Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.
• Inspect shipments for damage or defects.
• Traces lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery, may maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.
• Review Purchase Order delivery dates and truck schedules to plan each workday.
• Assign and maintain inventory locations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Shipping & Receiving floor and Job Material staging areas.
• Will operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment.
• Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety environmental, and/or infection control standards.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications And Competencies

• Operate forklift.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Records maintenance skills preferred.
• Inventory Management preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Good computer skills.
• Ability to lift, push or pull items up to 50 lbs. in weight.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written.
• Ability to understand following safety procedures.
• Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
• High School diploma or GED required, associate’s degree or higher from an accredited college preferred.
