We have been in business for over 30 years specializing in providing production solutions for Defense and Commercial industries. We have extensive experience in the energetics (explosives), medical, and semiconductor industries.
Who We’re Seeking: We are looking for a Controls Engineering Manager to lead our talented controls engineering team, overseeing the successful planning, execution, and delivery of automation systems while driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role is perfect for a technical leader with expertise in controls systems, team management, and project execution who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to advancing team and organizational success.
What You’ll Do: This job is onsite/in-office each day. You’ll also be responsible for:
- Lead the team in the design and execution of automation systems, ensuring high-quality standards and efficient project completion
- Review and approve PLC programs, HMI configurations, electrical schematics, and other technical deliverables
- Develop and implement department strategies and initiatives to improve engineering processes and team performance
- Provide advanced technical support for complex control system issues, offering guidance to team members
- Act as the point of contact for clients and stakeholders, representing the engineering team in meetings and presentations
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, performance management, coaching, and development of team members
- 30% travel (expected average in a year)
Who You Are:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in automation and controls engineering
- 2 years of experience managing and leading engineering teams, particularly in automation, controls, or manufacturing
- Expertise in PLC programming, HMI configuration, and electrical schematic review
Additionally, You’ll Need These Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM (CAD data management) software
- Intermediate experience with Enterprise Resource Management (ERM) software
- Proficient in project management methodologies
- In-depth understanding of ISO 9001 (QMS) and process improvement principles
Added Bonus if You Have:
- Experience in custom automation for DoD projects
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification

- Base Salary Range: $145,000 - $190,000 (depending on experience)
