The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. All care is provided based on the concepts inherent in the model of care for Client which promotes an on-going partnership between patients and families and the team of healthcare providers. The care is culturally based and age specific. The RN adheres to American Nursing Association (ANA) code of ethics and to the Product of practice described in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

Unit Description:
Cardiac Cath Lab:
- The Cardiac Cath Lab is a fast-paced environment that utilizes the newest technology to treat adult cardiovascular disease.
- We also participate in many research trials including pre-market release of new technology.
- Besides coronary artery disease and percutaneous interventions there are specialized programs such as CLI (chronic limb ischemia) that prevent loss of limb due to vascular disease and CTO (chronic total occlusions) that improve quality of life for those with angina.
- We have a structural heart program that treats the valves and structures within the heart led by a team of physicians with advanced expertise and knowledge of the latest techniques and technologies.
- Nurses work side by side with this team as a circulator, scrub nurse or monitoring nurse.
- There are always opportunities to learn as technology evolves working along a great team of Radiologic Technologists and Cardiologists.
