Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Catheterization Lab team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing with a focus on cardiac care, and will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care during catheterization procedures. This role requires a compassionate individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Duties
- Provide direct patient care in the Catheterization Lab, including pre-procedure assessments and post-procedure monitoring.
- Assist physicians during catheterization procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is prepared and functioning.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation throughout the patient’s care process.
- Monitor patients for signs of complications or adverse reactions during and after procedures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about procedures, recovery processes, and post-discharge care.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy to assist in the identification of vascular structures during procedures.
- Perform phlebotomy as needed for lab tests or transfusions.
- Provide care for infants when necessary, including the use of neonatal ventilators.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, especially in infectious disease care scenarios.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding related to catheterization procedures.
- Familiarity with long-term care practices is preferred.
- Ability to lift patients safely and effectively as required by the role.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Prior experience in a catheterization lab or similar setting is highly desirable.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in nursing care.
