What You Will Be Doing
Working as an Access and Emergency Mental Health Clinician you will be responsible for working both in the office and some opportunities within the community to provide assistance with various mental health related needs, including working with individuals in a mental health crisis as well as completing assessments and referring to ongoing services. This position focuses primarily on working with youth and families however is cross trained to provide assessments and crisis interventions with adults as well. This includes providing clinically appropriate crisis interventions to individuals in a mental health crisis, assisting community members with information mental health resources and completing same day access assessments. Same Day Access and Emergency Services Clinician work as a team and work in a variety of roles for the Kalamazoo County community.
This full-time position will consist of shifts that start later in the day to ensure evening coverage. Evening shifts include an additional shift premium per policy.
What We Require
You will have a master’s degree in human services or related field and a minimum of one year experience working with adults that have a serious mental illness, substance use disorder or co-occurring condition. A valid Michigan Driver’s license and Licensed Master's Social Worker ( LLMSW / LMSW ), Licensed Professional Counselor ( LLPC / LPC ) or Limited License Psychologist ( LLP ) is required. CAADC and / or a development plan preferred. Those with limited license will also be considered and are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions :
Physical Efforts – Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and / or eye / hand / foot.
Working Conditions – Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer screen for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer screen. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
