What You Will Be Doing
Working as an Emergency Mental Health and Same Day Access Clinician you will be responsible for working both in the office and within the community to provide assistance with various mental health related needs, including working with individuals in a mental health crisis as well as completing assessments and referring to ongoing services. This includes providing clinically appropriate crisis interventions to individuals in a mental health crisis, assisting community members with information mental health resources and completing same day access assessments. Emergency Mental Health Clinicians work as a team and work in a variety of roles for the Kalamazoo County community.
This position offers the opportunity for a four-day work week, and shift schedule flexibility may be discussed during the interview process.
What We Require
Master's degree in human services or related field and a minimum of 1-year experience working with adults that have a serious mental illness, substance use disorder or co-occurring condition. A valid Michigan Driver’s license and Licensed Master's Social Worker ( LLMSW / LMSW ), Licensed Professional Counselor ( LLC / LPC ) or Limited License Psychologist ( LLP ) is required. CAADC and / or a development plan preferred.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions :
Physical Efforts – Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and / or eye / hand / foot.
Working Conditions – Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer screen for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer screen. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
