Import/Export Coordinator

We seek a detail-oriented Import/Export Coordinator to manage our international trade operations. The ideal candidate will coordinate and oversee all activities involved in the import and export of goods, ensuring compliance with domestic and international trade laws and regulations. This role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage all import and export logistics.
• Ensure compliance with domestic and international trade laws and regulations.
• Prepare and manage all necessary documentation related to the shipment of goods, such as customs declarations and bills of lading.
• Liaise with suppliers, shipping companies, customs agents, and customers to facilitate smooth operations.
• Monitor shipment schedules and timelines to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Negotiate shipping and handling fees with freight forwarders and shipping companies.
• Analyze and optimize logistical procedures and processes.
• Resolve problems or discrepancies related to the shipment of goods.
• Communicate and coordinate with customs agents for the clearance of goods.
• Track and report shipment status to relevant parties.
• Keep abreast of changes in import-export laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year experience in importing and exporting
• Proven experience in import/export coordination, preferably within an NVOCC or freight forwarding environment.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics software.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with customs brokerage.
• Mayaga system/platform experience of 1 year or more preferred.
• Knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping documentation.
