Role Summary

The Welding Engineer provides technical expertise to the manufacturing plant in welding matters. This role evaluates and recommends changes associated with new and existing programs related to weld assembly processing, tooling, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical welding expertise to support customer programs.
• Lead root cause investigations into weld-related defects.
• Develop and implement documents and procedures for validation of welding equipment and processes to meet customer specifications.
• Develop work instructions for manual weld and repair requirements.
• Participate in APQP processes relating to design of weld assembly work cells and tooling.
• Evaluate processes/equipment and make continuous improvement recommendations in weld quality and process.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

• ~4 year degree in Weld Engineering Technology or documented equivalent combination of education & work experience.
• ~2 years of work experience in resistance and MIG welding, mechanical and electrical fabrication and repair, robotic welder programming and troubleshooting.
