Position: Tax Firm Bookkeeper & Payroll Specialist
Summary: The Tax Firm Bookkeeper & Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity and accuracy of client records within a tax firm. They are responsible for maintaining organized and up-to-date financial data, including client transactions, receipts, invoices, and expenses. The bookkeeper collaborates closely with the tax team to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of tax returns and compliance with all relevant financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Records Management: Maintain and update accurate financial records for multiple clients, including income, expenses, and bank transactions. Organize and categorize financial documents, such as receipts, invoices, and tax-related documents. Track and reconcile various accounts, including bank accounts and credit cards.
- Tax Data Preparation: Assist in the preparation of client tax returns by providing accurate financial data to the tax professionals. Ensure that all necessary tax forms and supporting documents are complete and properly organized for each client. Collaborate with the tax team to address any discrepancies or issues with the financial data.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements. Prepare periodic financial reports and summaries for clients and management. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other financial reports as needed.
- Communication and Client Support: Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial information and address inquiries related to bookkeeping matters.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly and professionally to client inquiries and concerns. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to enhance their experience with the tax firm.
- Software and Technology: Utilize accounting software and tools to manage financial data efficiently. Stay up-to-date with industry-standard bookkeeping software and recommend improvements to enhance the bookkeeping process.
- Confidentiality and Integrity: Maintain strict confidentiality of client financial information. Uphold ethical standards and handle financial data with the utmost integrity and accuracy.
- Set up new payroll accounts.
- Process bi-weekly, weekly or monthly payroll.
- Reconcile quarterly payroll reports.
- File quarterly payroll reports to the IRS and state.
- Process W2s and 1099s.
- Set up new sales tax accounts.
- Process and file monthly sales tax returns.
Schedule:
- 6 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- 9am to 3pm
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Broken Arrow, OK 74012: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Experience:
- QuickBooks: 2 years (Required)
- Excel (Key and Advanced)
- Bookkeeping: 2 years (Required)
- Worked in a full services bookkeeping/tax firm (Required)
- Multi firm payroll experience (Ideal)
- Intuit Pro Series (Ideal)
- Intuit Lacerte (Ideal)
- Tax experience: 3 years (Required)
Work Location: Locations in Tulsa and Broken Arrow / In person
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Supplemental Pay: Bonus opportunities
