The Mgr Finance Hospital is accountable for financial oversight and financial management of an assigned entity or system-wide service area. The role collaborates with local leadership teams to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) and supports strategic planning by working closely with the Finance Director and operational leadership.
Key responsibilities include analyzing financial performance across volumes, revenues, and expenses to identify trends, preparing operating and capital budgets, setting performance targets, and monitoring progress toward goals.
The Manager of Finance also acts as a liaison between financial operations and assigned areas, ensuring effective communication and alignment while developing strategies to address financial opportunities and drive organizational success.
- Collaboration & Relationship Building:
Foster collaborative relationships with leadership across departments, including Accounts Payable, Revenue Cycle, HIM, and other clinical and non-clinical service areas.
• Financial Leadership & Program Oversight:
Provide leadership in assessing, budgeting, planning, and managing financial operations. Develop, implement, and evaluate programs and projects under the supervision of the Director of Finance or CFO.
• Workforce Development & Team Management:
Select, coach, and develop departmental caregivers. Manage workforce efficiency and facilitate education, training, and mentoring to build team capabilities.
• Financial Planning & Monitoring:
Prepare and develop financial plans, monitor progress toward achieving goals, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
• Strategic Alignment & Corporate Collaboration:
Collaborate with corporate management to define financial goals and objectives. Provide input into strategic initiatives to ensure alignment with broader organizational priorities.
• Budget Preparation & Compliance:
Prepare annual operating and capital budgets, including training and mentoring department managers on budgeting processes. Monitor and communicate budget variances, recommend and oversee corrective actions, and ensure budget compliance.
• Decision Support & Organizational Engagement:
Participate in decision-making structures and processes with leaders from the Board of Directors, management, medical staff, and ancillary, support, financial, and clinical areas.
• Executive Summaries & Program Evaluation:
Develop executive summaries on the financial impact of new programs for presentation to leadership and administrative audiences.
• Business Opportunities & Program Adjustments:
Recommend new business opportunities or adjustments to existing programs to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
• Committee Representation:
Represent senior management on internal hospital and medical staff committees as needed.
• Additional Responsibilities:
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership to support operational and strategic objectives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5 years of experience in healthcare-related fields
• Direct supervisory experience
• Experience working with spreadsheets, word processing, and internet-based tools
• Knowledgeable of current national healthcare policies and trends in political environment
• Knowledge of leadership, management, and performance improvement concepts
Preferred Qualifications:
• CPA Certification
• HFMA certification
• Advanced personal computer skills, PowerBI, SQL and Smartview
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English
• Master’s Degree in related field
