Crew Lead Fence Stainer

Position Overview:

The Crew Lead Fence Stainer is responsible for overseeing a team of fence stainers to ensure the timely and high-quality completion of staining projects. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on experience with staining techniques, and the ability to coordinate tasks, resources, and schedules. The Crew Lead is accountable for maintaining safety, meeting project deadlines, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership:

• Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of fence stainers, ensuring efficiency and high-quality workmanship.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities based on crew members’ skills and experience to maximize productivity.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate training opportunities.

2. Project Management:

• Review project requirements, stain types, and materials with the crew to ensure clear understanding.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and permits.
• Monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective measures to meet project deadlines.

3. Quality Assurance:

• Ensure that staining applications meet or exceed industry standards, client expectations, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify inconsistencies, drips, or missed spots, ensuring a flawless finish.
• Implement best practices to maintain uniform stain coverage and maximize durability.

4. Safety Compliance:

• Enforce safety protocols, including proper use of protective gear and safe handling of staining materials.
• Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and ongoing training to promote awareness and compliance.
• Investigate and report any safety incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in staining, painting, or carpentry is a plus.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fence staining, painting, or wood finishing, including leadership roles.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Technical proficiency in stain application methods, tools, and equipment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations related to staining materials and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans, customer specifications, and stain application guidelines.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.00 per week
