Senior Human Resources Generalist
Position Summary:
The Senior HR Generalist is an HR “expert” who provides full-function support for the Human Resources Department, including payroll, employee relations, and benefit administration functions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the team and provide counsel and guidance regarding policies, procedures and state and federal regulatory compliance requirements
- Keep management appraised of internal and external HR developments that may impact overall effectiveness
- Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure a positive onboarding experience
- Assist management with performance management, including delivering disciplinary action for hourly employees
- Maintain personnel files and training materials, ensuring documents and manuals are kept current, accurate, confidential and in compliance with company policies and government regulations
- Interact with plant personnel at all levels to identify, assist with and resolve problems.
- Manage all social media platforms and communication to organization.
- Assist with benefit enrollment and inquiries
- Back up support for payroll process.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated success at a plant or operational level in an organization as well as a division or corporate level.
- Experience with utilization of all available resources to assist employees at all levels within the organization and teaching them to use these resources – helping others help themselves.
- Expertise in HR-related concepts with hands-on experience in development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience
- 2 years of HR experience, including compensation, HRIS administration, HR management, benefits administration, payroll and employee relations
- Experience working in HRIS and time/attendance systems
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
