Job Summary
PIPAC Health and Life Brokerage, an Integrity partner, is seeking a dynamic self-starter to take a team lead role in our Group Health Insurance department. Our team provides sales and administrative support to independent insurance agents operating in the employer group health insurance market. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess strong communication and computer skills, as well as the ability to learn and teach others.
Primary Responsibilities:
Be knowledgeable in all group health and ancillary product lines offered through PIPAC, including plan designs as well as sales, enrollment, and customer service processes.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with agents and carriers.
Recommend and educate agents on employee group benefits for their customers.
Understand and promote agent quoting and enrollment tools.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for department processes and utilization of resources.
Handle inbound and outbound agent and carrier communication related to various sales and service aspects of the employer group health insurance market.
Primary Skills & Requirements:
Industry Knowledge – Experience in group health benefits, understanding of policies, quoting, renewals, and issue resolution for independent agents.
Customer Service Excellence – Strong phone and email communication, ensuring a high level of responsiveness and problem resolution.
Escalation Handling – Ability to de-escalate complex agent issues and work with carriers/vendors to resolve problems efficiently.
Leadership & Team Management– Experience managing and mentoring a small team, ensuring accountability and productivity.
Time Management & Prioritization – Ability to juggle daily customer service tasks while handling escalations and reporting.
Process Improvement & Resourcefulness – Can identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to streamline workflows.
Attention to Detail & Accuracy – Ensures all information provided to agents is correct and timely, minimizing errors.
Reporting & Analytics – Comfortable with tracking team performance, compiling reports, and presenting data to leadership.
Adaptability & Problem-Solving – Able to work in a fast-paced environment, think critically, and make decisions under pressure.
Strong Communicator – Can clearly convey information to agents, team members, and leadership, both verbally and in writing.
Associate’s degree and 3-5 years of sales or customer service-related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Iowa health insurance license or ability to obtain within 60 days.
Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with computer programs and Microsoft Office applications.
Self-starter with the ability to operate in an often fast-paced environment involving hard deadlines and a need for timely and accurate responses.
