Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at
a Mental Health Clinic specializing in medication management. The Medical Assistant will
work alongside our mental health professionals to provide comprehensive support to
patients, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care. This role involves
administrative and clinical tasks that contribute to the effective management of patients’
mental health conditions, primarily focusing on medication management, patient care,
and clinic operations.
Responsibilities:
Patient Care Support:
a. Greet and check in patients upon arrival to the clinic.
b. Obtain and record patients’ medical history, including current medications,
allergies, and previous treatments.
c. Measure and document vital signs such as blood pressure, weight, height,
temperature, and pulse.
d. Assist with the coordination and follow-up of lab tests, referrals, and
medication refills.
e. Provide basic patient education on prescribed medications and treatment
plans, emphasizing adherence to prescribed regimens.
Medication Management:
a. Monitor and track patients’ medication schedules and usage.
b. Remind patients about upcoming medication appointments or prescription
refills.
c. Document and communicate any adverse reactions or side effects related to
medications to the clinical team.
d. Assist in maintaining an accurate and organized medication inventory.
e. Help in managing medication records, including dosage instructions and
potential drug interactions.
f. Submit any Prior Authorizations to Pharmacy in a timely manner
Clinical Support:
a. Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring they are clean,
stocked, and properly set up.
b. Assist healthcare providers in monitoring patients during in-office treatment.
c. Prepare and administer injections as directed by the healthcare provider.
d. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Administrative Duties:
a. Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits, coordinating with
physicians and therapists.
b. Answer phone calls and assist with patient inquiries, providing appropriate
information or referring to the clinical staff as needed.
c. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Electronic Health
Record (EHR) system.
d. Assist with insurance verification and billing procedures as needed.
e. Handle office and clinic correspondence, ensuring timely follow-up for
patients’ concerns.
Collaboration with Mental Health Providers:
a. Work closely with mental health professionals to ensure integrated care for patients.
b. Communicate patient concerns or changes in medication adherence to the
clinical team for appropriate action.
Patient Advocacy:
a. Ensure patients are comfortable, informed, and supported during their visits.
b. Promote a welcoming and empathetic environment for individuals facing
mental health challenges.
Clinic Operations:
a. Help maintain clinic cleanliness and safety, ensuring all equipment is
functioning properly.
b. Assist with any other duties or special projects as assigned by the clinical or
administrative staff.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
